Annie's journey into triathlon began after a vibrant upbringing in fast-paced London, where her love for hard work and play was clear. Realizing the need for a new direction, and with the unwavering support of her father and encouragement from friends, Annie dove headfirst into the world of triathlon.
Just months after starting out in the sport, she earned a bronze medal at an early iteration of the UK’s National Championships, marking a pivotal moment in her life. Annie’s story is a testament to the idea that we are all “born bound and born with a purpose.” Over the next two decades, she competed in triathlons and running events, achieving remarkable milestones, including representing Britain in the Half Marathon and becoming the world’s top-ranked duathlete.
Annie retired from competition in 2006, but her passion for the sport endures. She has since become a highly respected TV commentator, covering events such as the Paris 2024 Olympics for the BBC, and working as a Super League reporter. Beyond broadcasting, Annie is a motivational speaker, sought-after event host, coach, and brand ambassador.
Annie is also a devoted wife and mother of two, balancing her dynamic professional life with her family. Her love for triathlon remains constant, and she continues to compete at a high level within her age group. We are fortunate to have Annie as a source of invaluable advice and inspiration for BornBound, where she also features prominently in our brand imagery.
