Josiah began triathlon at the age of 9 at the Victoria Youth Triathlon in British Columbia and this is where his passion for the sport began. Since then he has gone on to represent New Zealand and now Canada on the world stage. Last year he raced short course on the world circuit including the U23 elite world championships in Ponte Vedra. This year he has mixed it up with a few long course races on the Ironman Pro Series and is now currently racing for a pro team in Germany for the Bundesliga Series.
After graduating university with a Bachelor of Human Performance Science in 2021, Josiah started his own triathlon coaching business called Ney Coaching. He now lives on Vancouver Island and balances his time between training and coaching age group athletes. When he is not working Josiah loves to head out on the mountain bike and explore the many trails the island has to offer.
